3. Paramedic Recruit - Grapevine - Government Jobs

  • Attend and satisfactorily complete or if currently enrolled, successfully complete an approved Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) basic fire academy.

  • Minimum age 19. High school diploma or equivalent. Must be certified as an Emergency Medical Technician EMT-Paramedic or Licensed Paramedic issued by the Texas Department of State Health Service at time of hire. An individual who has a National Registry certification for Paramedic is eligible to apply for employment but must apply for Texas certification and must be an EMT-Paramedic or Licensed Paramedic certified by the Texas Department of State Health Services at time of hire. The Texas Department of State Health Services certification shall be maintained during employment. The Paramedic Recruit must successfully pass any department/division required written or oral examinations prior to employment and meet Texas Department of State Health Services and Medical Directors requirements for re-certification during employment. If hired after April 1, 2017, and currently enrolled in a Texas Commission on Fire Protection certified training program, the Paramedic Recruit must successfully complete the program within four months from date of hire.  Upon completing the TCFP training program, the Paramedic Recruit will be given two chances within 60 days of the completion of the program to successfully pass the TCFP Basic Firefighter Certification exam.  Upon successful completion of the TCFP Basic Firefighter certification exam, the Paramedic Recruit must obtain Texas Commission on Fire Protection Basic Firefighter certification and shall maintain this certification during employment...
