How to Download Music From Spotify
If you want to download your songs on Spotify so you can listen to them offline, you need to have a subscription to Spotify Premium. Once you have signed up to a membership, here's how to download songs through the desktop app.
Open Spotify.
Click on the playlist you wish to download.
Click the downwards arrow to download the playlist.
The music will now be added to your library and can be listened to offline.

Can You Download a Single Song on Spotify?
It's not possible to download a single song on Spotify through the conventional method listed above, but there is a workaround to download a single song. Here's what to do.
Open Spotify.
Click Search.
Search for the song you wish to download.
Right click the song in the Songs result box.
Click Add to Playlist > New playlist.
Click the new playlist.
Click the downwards arrow to download the playlist.
The single song has now been downloaded to your library.

Why Can’t I Download Songs on Spotify?
If you can't download songs on Spotify, this could be for a number of reasons. Here's a look at why you may have a problem.
- You're not subscribed to Spotify Premium. Check you're subscribed to Spotify Premium and that the subscription hasn't lapsed. If you're not currently subscribed, you can't download music from Spotify.
- Check your internet connection. Check your internet connection is working so you are able to download files from it.
- Check you have enough space. If you don't have enough space on your desktop or smartphone, you can't download songs from Spotify. Clear room for your music.
- You're using too many devices. You can only download songs on up to five devices. If you try to download on a sixth device, Spotify will automatically remove downloads from whichever of the devices you use least often.
- You've reached your download limit. You can only download up to 10,000 songs on your account. If you hit the limit, you will need to remove older songs.
What Limitations Are There to Downloading Songs on Spotify?
To download songs from Spotify, you still need to go online every 30 days to refresh the licensing conditions of the service. You can also only download up to 10,000 songs on up to five different devices which may limit some users.
